As a Catering Assistant at the Taste Café within Sainsbury's Penzance Superstore, you'll be part of a friendly and fast-paced team serving customers from Penzance and the surrounding local communities. You'll play an important role in creating a positive café experience for shoppers, whether they're enjoying a morning coffee, a light lunch, or taking a break during their visit. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing delicious, high-quality food and drinks for our customers.
- Creating attractive food and counter displays that enhance the customer experience.
- Delivering friendly, efficient service and representing the Taste Café brand with pride.
- Handling customer transactions accurately and confidently using the till system.
- Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
- Following all Health & Safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for customers and colleagues.
- Supporting your team to ensure the café operates smoothly during busy periods.
- Have a positive, can-do attitude and enjoy working with people.
- Be passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
- Thrive as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
- Remain calm and organised in a busy retail environment.
- Be reliable, punctual and able to manage their time effectively.
- Take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
- Have previous catering, hospitality or customer service experience (desirable but not essential), as full training will be provided.
Based within Sainsbury's Penzance Superstore on Eastern Green, you'll be working in a popular local café that welcomes a wide range of customers, from local residents and families to visitors exploring West Cornwall.
